According to a new leak verified by multiple reputable sources, American video game publisher, 2K Games is working on some really exciting new games, such as a Borderlands spin-off based on the character ‘Tiny Tina’ and a Marvel-based strategy XCOM game. Though the legitimacy of the existence of the Borderlands and Marvel XCOM game has been verified by reputable sources, it’s still not totally clear if they’ll be announced at E3 or not.
As spotted by VGC, the leaked list was first published on Reddit. There was also a poster that claimed that 2K Games currently has at least four unannounced games in development. And out of four games, the most eyecatching game is the “XCOM-inspired Marvel game from Firaxis.” As the leak notes, it will feature characters from the Marvel franchise, and that characters could be voiced by some famous actors.
After this leak hints that the company might be planning to reveal a Borderlands spin-off at the upcoming E3 2021 event, which is being said to be titled Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. This rumor came next to a previous statement from Take-Two Interactive which is 2K Games’ parent company, that it is working on a “new franchise” from Borderlands developer Gearbox Software and intend to publish it before April 2022.
Now the final two unannounced games are a 2022 edition of 2K’s quite popular NBA 2K series and a totally new project which is codenamed “Volt”. This game is stated to be in really ‘early stages of development’ and has been reported as an action game titles “Cthulhu meets Saints Row”. VGC reports that this could be Hangar13’s new IP described as an “open-world sci-fi title with supernatural elements”.
Some details of the leaked list have been verified by well-known video game journalist Jason Schreier and corroborated by media outlet VGC.
