2K and Gearbox Software have officially announced a new game during Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live! called Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and will be coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2022. As previously reported, this game is a Borderlands spinoff featuring one of the universe’s most iconic faces – Tiny Tina.
This game is an all-new high fantasy take on the looter shooter genre and inspired by Borderlands 2 DLC – Assault on Dragon’s Keep. It’s a fully standalone experience and includes four-player co-op and endgame content. As we’ve seen in the game’s debut trailer, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be having more of a fantasy flavor to it, with the titular acting as your wild-eyed dungeon master.
Tina’s voice actor Ashly Burch also confirms a few details about the game, including the addition of spell crafting and the ability to fully customize your character. The trailer steadily hints at some sort of heavier crafting component.
The founder of Gearbox, Randy Pitchford said Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has been in and out of development for over 10 years. “For me, bringing actual Borderlands guns to fight dragons, skeletons, goblins, and more in an original fantasy world imagined by the galaxy’s deadliest thirteen-year-old Tiny Tina, as a new, full-featured AAA video game is like a dream come true,” says Randy Pitchford.
