The Galaxy Chromebook Go’s Wi-Fi-only variant is now available for purchase. The laptop, which is marketed as being “thinner and lighter” than other Chromebooks, will go on sale for $300 on July 15 but is currently listed for as little as $130 at Samsung.com.

There are a lot of basic specifications here for an entry-level Chromebook at the $300 pricing. The Intel Celeron N4500 processor is teamed with 4GB of RAM under the hood. The display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and has 32GB of storage. That’s not Full HD, but given that this is an entry-level Chromebook, it’s what you get for the money.

The Galaxy Chromebook Go has a 14-inch screen and weighs roughly 3 pounds, making it ideal for traveling or school. It also has a military-grade design that makes it resistant to drops, dents, and spills. Samsung has also included USB-C charging on this device, allowing you to get up to 12 hours of battery life. This isn’t something you’ll find on most inexpensive Chromebooks.

This is a well-connected machine in other areas. Two USB Type-C ports, one USB 2.3 port, a microSD card reader, a multimedia card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone socket are all included. The Galaxy Chromebook Go, like most recent Chromebooks, supports Wi-Fi 6, which Samsung claims is three times quicker than prior generations of Wi-Fi.

Finally, because this is a Chromebook, you’ll have Android and ChromeOS interoperability. On Chrome OS, you can use Nearby Share and Phone Hub to browse recently opened Chrome Tabs, locate your phone, and even share your phone’s cellular connection.

Samsung has announced that a new Galaxy Chromebook Go model will be available soon. AT&T and Verizon will release an LTE version in the coming weeks.
