ASUS unveils all-new ProArt Studiobook 16 Pro and bunch of OLED laptops for creators

Making OLED screens the norm ASUS has announced a new range of OLED display laptops that are mainly focused on creators. The new range of products includes the ProArt Studiobook 16 Pro; refreshed versions of ProArt Studiobook 16; Zenbook 14X, Flip 14 and Pro 15 Duo; Vivobook Pro 14, 15, and Pro 14X, 16X; and ASUS ExpertBook B5 and B5 Flip.

All of these products come with H-series processors, dedicated RTX graphics, and new OLED displays, which are the company’s first DisplayHDR 600 True Black certified screens, factory calibrated to be PANTONE Validated, and have “cinema-grade” 100% DCI-P3 color gamut support.

So let’s take a close look at all of these products one by one.

ASUS ProArt Studiobook

ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 Pro comes with AMD Ryzen 5000 H-series processors (model W5600) or Intel 3rd-gen Xeon chips (model W7600) coupled with NVIDIA RTX A2000 (W5600) or A5000 (W7600) GPU. And for the non-Pro SKUs (ProArt Studiobook 16) there are AMD Ryzen processors (model H7600), but with Intel, there are Core i9 chips (model H5600) instead of Xeon and for graphics, there are NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (H5600) or 3060 (H7600) graphics.

Both Pro and non-Pro models have a 16-inch 4K OLED HDR 16:10 display that delivers stunning visuals with a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, PANTONE Validated and Calman Verified certifications, along with factory-calibrated Delta-E < 2 color accuracy and VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black accreditation.

Also, there’s a new feature called ASUS Dial, a rotary controller positioned top-left of the touchpad to give users more precision which currently works in four Adobe apps – Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom Classic, and After Effects.

The ProArt Studiobook 16 series offers extensive connectivity with ultrafast PCIe 3.0 x4 or PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs, up to 64 GB of 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM, and the latest Thunderbolt 4 (W7600, H7600) or USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (W5600, H5600) ports, plus HDMI 2.1 and an SD Express 7.0 card reader.

ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 Pro starts at $2,499.99, while the non-Pro SKUs will start at $1,999.99.

ASUS Zenbook

The next in the queue is ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED and 14 Flip OLED, both of which come with a gorgeous 16:10 4K OLED HDR NanoEdge touchscreen and are powered by the latest 11th Generation Intel Core processors or AMD Ryzen 5000 H-Series processors.

Now coming to the Zenbook Pro Duo 15 OLED (model UX582), uses an Intel Core i9 with RTX 3070 discrete graphics and has the same great OLED displays as the Studio book. Zenbook Pro Duo also comes with the ASUS ScreenPad Plus, a secondary, 14-inch secondary touchscreen for multitasking.

Asus has not revealed the pricing for refreshed Zenbook models, but they will launch in Q4 of 2021.

ASUS Vivobook Pro and Pro X

Next up is the range of OLED Vivobook Pro laptops from ASUS which the company claims to be the “ultimate powerhouse” for creators, with a feature ASUS DialPad. First up are the Vivobook Pro 14X and 16X OLED, coming in 14- and 16-inch sizes as the name suggest. The 16X offers a 4K OLED HDR 550-nit screen, while the 14X is 2.8K OLED HDR at 600-nit brightness and both have got a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification, they’re PANTONE Validated.

Both 14X and 16X come with AMD Ryzen 5000 H Series Mobile Processors or Intel Core i7, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics, up to 32GB RAM, and a biggest-in-class 96WHr battery. Both have ASUS IceCool Plus technology for cooling and are available in the anodized-metal 0° Black and Cool Silver or weave-coating Meteor White and Comet Grey color options.

Now, the Vivabook Pro 14 and Pro 15 can consider more lightweight options at 3.09 and 3.64 pounds and they come with a NanoEdge 2.8K or FHD OLED display instead of 4K. They still offer H-series processors from Intel or AMD, the graphics will be RTX 3050, a dual-fan cooling system, and ultrafast WiFi 6.

The Vivobook Pro 14X OLED will be available in Canada soon, and the Vivobook Pro 16X is coming to North America starting at $1,399.99. The Vivobook Pro 14 OLED (model K3400) starts at $749.99, the Vivobook Pro 14 OLED (model M3401) starts at $1,199.99, and the Vivobook Pro 15 starts at $919.99.

ASUS ExpertBook B5 and B5 Flip

Finally, in the end, comes business laptops – ASUS ExpertBook B5 OLED, and ExpertBook B5 Flip OLED. Both are thin-and-light laptops, with the ExpertBook B5 OLED coming in at 2.65lbs and still pack a relatively large 66Whr battery, and up to an 11th-generation Intel Core i7 CPU with Iris Xe graphics. They also are configured up to 48GB of RAM. As for the display, it’s a Full HD 16:9 OLED panel with HDR support and it covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. 

Asus has not revealed the pricing and any launch for these laptops.

However, ASUS has confirmed that all of the new laptop and PC models will ship with Windows 11, or be eligible for a free upgrade when the new OS is available. The company has also unveiled some other products like ProArt Station PD5, ProArt Display OLED PA32DC, ProArt X570-Creator WiFi, ProArt Projector A1, ProArt Mouse MD300, ProArt Mouse Pad PS201, ProArt Display PA147CDV, ZenScreen OLED MQ13AH, and MQ16AH.
