The alleged specifications of forthcoming Intel Alder Lake processors are leaked out including spec of Core i9-12900K, Core i7-12700K, and Core i5-12600K. The specifications are classified into P-Core and E-Core, hinting that Intel Alder Lake CPU’s feature Intel Hybrid Technology (reportedly called as big.LITTLE core design). It is a marketing term for heterogeneous architecture, used by the 12th generation core series.
Here, P-Core means a big core (or high-Performance core) and E-Core means a small core (or high- Efficiency core). The Big core is set up on Golden Cove Microarchitecture while the Small Core is based on using Gracemont.
Leaked specs of Intel Alder Lake
As reported by VideoCardz, the Core i9-12900K, which is the flagship SKU of the upcoming series, offers 8 bigger Golden Cove cores with 8 big Gracemont cores for an (8+8) configuration. The small cores are raised to 3.9 GHz and the big ones will raise to 5.3 GHz with the SKU going to feature 30 MB of L3 Cache.
The i7- 12700K is going to feature 8 big and 4 small cores having 100 MHz lower frequencies. Big cores will see a fall of 300 MHz in comparison with the flagship SKU. This time a 25 MB L3 Cache is to be used by the processor.
The Core i5-12600K is going to provide a 6C+4c configuration with a small core boosted to 3.6 GHz and a big core up to 4.9 GHz.
All three K-series processors will use PL1 i.e power level 1 at 125 W and PL2 i.e power level 2 at 228W.
Intel Core i9- 12900K Defeats AMD Ryzen 9 595OX
The Core i9-12900K hit speeds to 5.3 GHz and used leaked specs from earlier processor versions. This will outperform AMD’s Ryzen 9 5950X (users calculated).
According to the post by Twitter user @9550pro, the Core i9-12900K will hit the multi-core score of about 11,300 in Cinebench R20, which is approx 900 points higher than the Ryzen 9 5950X.
It is to be noticed that all the above details are based on the rumored benchmark, the i9-12900K may perform better or nasty than the guess made when it launches. Rumors also gave an idea that Windows 11 may be able to take advantage of Intel Core i9-12900K.
