Midrange Surface Laptop
A smaller Surface Laptop by Microsoft is reportedly being prepared to launch later this year. A more lightweight version of the Surface Laptop with a smaller 12.5-inch display is being prepared by Microsoft as per reports of Windows Central. Specs of this new Surface Laptop model will supposedly include 4GB of RAM, Intel’s 10th Gen Core i5 processor, and 64GB of storage. To target students, this smaller Surface Laptop will be released and would be running Windows 10 in S Mode.
Price Range
The pricing of this new Surface Laptop by Microsoft is rumored between $500 and $600. This price range seems to be an affordable option for students for the Surface line. As a smaller and more budget-friendly clamshell laptop, it appears to be positioned as the Surface Go equivalent to the Surface Pro.
RAM & Storage Upgrades
Microsoft will likely offer RAM and storage upgrades, as it has been the case with Surface devices. As compared to the past, the base model Surface Go having 4GB of RAM was not found capable of daily browsing and app tasks as the upgraded 8GB of RAM model.
For this new Surface Laptop and other hardware refreshes and accessories, Microsoft is likely to schedule some type of virtual event or an announcement in October this year.
