Apple is reportedly internally testing its new external display with a dedicated A13 chip and also Neural Engine, which could be an updated version or follow-up of its Pro Display XDR.

As exclusively reported by 9to5Mac, sources reveal that this new external display is developing under a code name J327 yet technical specifications are not clear for now. However, reports claim that this display will have Apple-made Soc – A13 bionic chip first used in the Apple iPhone 11 lineup.

Additionally, the external display could feature a Neural engine to accelerate its machine learning tasks. With all this Apple is aiming to make this new external display much affordable for its regular customers.

As 9to5Mac notes, Apple could either combine the power of display Soc with the Mac’s Soc to enhance its performance for running graphic tasks. Or could use this Soc to add some smart features like Airplay, to its current Pro Display XDR.

With the help of a monitor with its own powerful Arm-based CPU, Apple could have a great push in PC gaming where gaming monitors with AMD’s FreeSync and Nvidia’s G-Sync technology support already exist.
