The next generation of Samsung’s most affordable truly wireless earbuds has been rumoured for a while, and a new leak is giving us our first really good look at the Galaxy Buds 2.
After official renders of the Samsung Galaxy Watch4, this time 91Mobiles has got images of the Galaxy Buds 2 that appear to be official Samsung renders. The earbuds come in Samsung’s customary square casing with rounded circles, as revealed by a recent regulatory listing. Meanwhile, the buds have an in-ear design with a silicone tip, similar to the Galaxy Buds Pro but different from the Galaxy Buds and Buds+.
The design is also seen in four different colours — white, black, purple, and green — in the pictures obtained. The colour scheme is hilarious in that Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 and Google’s new Pixel Buds A-Series feature the same overall look. Those $99 buds come in white and green, similar to Samsung’s, and the cover appears to be white on all sides, with the colours just appearing on the interior and on the earbud itself. But that’s most likely just a coincidence.
Most other specifics about the Galaxy Buds 2 are currently unclear, although the earbuds are believed to be less expensive than the Galaxy Buds Pro and are expected to lack Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Galaxy Buds 2 could be released alongside either the Galaxy Watch 4 or the Galaxy Z Fold 3/Flip 3. This could imply a statement as soon as this week, or a much more likely August debut. In any event, Samsung’s Summer line-up is looking great.
