Nothing, the new startup by ex-OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, is planning to unveil a pair of wireless earbuds sometime this summer. These earbuds will be the first device from the London-based consumer technology company, with other products launching later this year, reports Bloomberg. The company has just completed a $15 million funding round led by Alphabet’s venture capital unit, GV (formerly Google Ventures).

In an interview with Bloomberg, Carl Pei said:

“We’re building an ecosystem of smart devices. We’ll start with simpler products, wireless earbuds. We’re going to have multiple products throughout the year, not just audio products, and eventually, we want to build it so these devices talk to each other.”

Nothings’s first product will compete with the OnePlus Buds, along with some of the world’s biggest tech companies including Apple, Samsung, and Sony. And with having back of GV there is no doubt that Nothing will enjoy a similar level of success ahead.

After leaving OnePlus last year, Pei launched “Nothing” last month and has already attracted investment from iPod inventor and Apple exec Tony Fadell, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman, and YouTuber Casey Neistat. With all this, it will be more interesting to see what the company plans to reveal next.
