Update: Roger Chandler, VP and GM of Client Graphics Products at Intel recently revealed in a Medium blog post, that Intel Arc GPU drivers will come with a built-in overclocking utility to make it for users to twerk their GPUs without using the third-party tools.

Here’s what the post has mentioned about it,

“We’re even integrating overclocking controls into the driver UI to give enthusiasts the tools they need to push the hardware to the limit.”

Update: After announcing its Arc branding, Intel is now conducting a giveaway where five lucky winners will win an Intel Arc Graphics Prize Package consisting of Game codes, Swag items, and One Intel Arc discrete graphics card (the total prize package won’t exceed $1,000).

The giveaway is open to people of the U.K. (England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland), U.S.A. (50 United States, the District of Columbia), Canada (excluding residents of Quebec), Australia (excluding ACT), France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, India, Taiwan, China (PRC), South Korea and Russia.

Original Article: Intel has recently announced that its upcoming dedicated graphics cards are going to arrive under the Intel Arc banner in early 2022. As we already knew, they’ll be based on the Iris Xe HPG architecture which is different from the Iris Xe LP that’s found in ultrabooks and even in the Iris Xe Max dedicated graphics. It’s clear Intel is all-in on the gamer aesthetic with this brand.

As per the Intel blog post, the new Arc brand will cover both the hardware and software powering Intel’s high-end discrete GPUs, as well as multiple hardware generations. The first-gen of these cards codenamed “Alchemist”, known previously as DG2, is expected to arrive in early 2022.

Intel’s Arc-based Alchemist GPUs would be available in both desktops and notebooks in 2022, with Intel aiming to compete against both AMD and Nvidia here. And as we still don’t know much about the performance of the first Alchemist GPUs, Intel has published a teaser video on Monday showcasing the prototype of this silicon running PUBG (now PUBG: Battlegrounds), Psychonauts 2, Metro Exodus, and even the Crysis Remastered Trilogy.

Also, Intel Arc GPUs will be capable of mesh shading, variable-rate shading, video upscaling, and real-time ray tracing. More essentially, Intel is also promising AI-accelerated supersampling which sounds new competitor for Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology after AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR).

The aim of all these technologies is to upscale games from a lower resolution to provide smoother frame rates without a noticeable compromise in image quality.

Intel announced three upcoming generations of Arc graphic cards, code-named Battlemage, Celestial, and Druid. As already told, for Alchemist, Intel said it will reveal more details later this year, and that cards will show up on desktops and laptops in the Q1 of 2022.
