After covering the massive Opening Night Live event yesterday, we are back with some new trailers and announcements of the most anticipated Indie and “AA” games showcased during the Future Games Show, and Awesome Indies Show at Gamescom 2021.
Everything announced during the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2021
- CGI trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate — Daemonhunters, another entry in the extensive Warhammer universe, arriving on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in 2022.
- The launch trailer for Super Animal Royale, an adorable free-to-play 2D scavenger shooter that pits 64 players against each other, now available for free across all major gaming platforms.
- The new gameplay trailer of Life is Strange: True Colors, currently set to release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia on September 10, 2021, with a Switch release coming later.
- Gameplay trailer for Sands of Aura, an exciting open-world adventure game that explores a world buried beneath the sand, coming to early access on Steam on October 21, 2021.
- Nine free demos that are available to play right now were shown during The Future Games Show, which included: Project Downfall, The Last Cube, Aeon Drive, The Garden Path, To the Rescue, Inkulinati, Beserk Boy, Chicken Police: Paint It Red, and Coromon
- During the show, Oculus Studios announced Jurassic World Aftermath 2, coming to the Oculus Quest VR on September 30, 2021.
- Bew gameplay trailer for Project Relic, a chaotic souls-like game filled with lush biomes, set to release at some point in 2023.
- One of the hotly anticipated upcoming indie games, Moonglow Bay got an October 7, 2021 release date for Xbox and PC at The Future Games Show.
- A psychological thriller with challenging puzzles, In Sound Mind, got a September 28, 2021 release date for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC with the Switch version arriving later in 2021.
- Rustler, an open-world action game that is a kind of medieval version of Bully, got an August 31, 2021 release date for all major console platforms.
- Ska Studios’s Salt and Sacrifice, a brutal 2D souls-like game, got a gameplay trailer showing its multiplayer and online features. Salt and Sacrifice is coming to PlayStation and PC in 2022.
- Timberborn, an upcoming city-building game, got early access on PC via Steam on September 15, 2021.
- Merge Games announced Trading Time, an upcoming sandbox exploration game, for Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation. (it is available to wishlist on Steam right now)
- New gameplay trailer for SMALLAND, an upcoming multiplayer survival, arriving on PC later this year.
- A new gameplay tralier for Dolmen, an upcoming cosmic horror sci-fi RPG, was shown during The Future Games Show. Dolmen is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC in 2022.
- During the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2021, a “Ones to Watch montage” featuring some of the most exciting upcoming indie games including A Wake Inn: Rebooked, Clid the Snail, KeyWe, DEATHRUN TV, Mythbusters: The Game, Scorchlands, Monster Harvest and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and Core Keeper was revealed.
- New gameplay trailer for MADiSON, an upcoming first-person psychological horror game, set to release on PC later this year and consoles in 2022.
- Pearl Abyss shared a gameplay trailer for DokeV, an insane-looking action-adventure game, coming to PC and consoles in 2022.
- Soulstice, an upcoming action-RPG game, set to release on PC and current-gen consoles in 2022 got a new gameplay trailer at The Future Games Show at Gamescom 2021.
- Team 17 showed off a montage of some of their games including Greak: Memories of Azur, Hammerting, Batora Lost Haven, Epic Chef, Hell Let Loose, Broken Roads, Honey I Joined A Cult, Sheltered 2, The Unliving, and Crown Trick during the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2021.
- Arcadegeddon, an evolving co-op shooter, currently in early access on PC and PS5, with a full release in 2022 revealed upcoming updates at the show.
- Sharkmob AB revealed that early access for Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodhunt is coming to Steam on Sept. 7, 2021.
- Medieval Dynasty, a first-person open-world survival game, got a September 23, 2021 release date for PC.

- Noguchi’s Bell, a samurai adventure made entirely in Media Molecule’s Dreams, got a new trailer for Noguchi’s Bell, with more episodes coming in 2022.
- New trailer for Imp of the Sun, a 2D action-platformer coming to PC in early 2022.
- Maneater’s upcoming DLC – Truth Quest arriving on Aug. 31, 2021, got a new trailer at The future Games Show. The game is currently available for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
- New gameplay trailer for Tails of Iron, an upcoming action-adventure game, coming to all major gaming platforms on September 17, 2021.
- During the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2021, Freedom Games show off a montage of some of their games, including Retreat to Enen, Clouzy!, Cat Cafe Manager, Sky Fleet, One Lonely Outpost, Guardians of Hyelore, Mail Time, and Monster Outbreak.
- A new cinematic trailer for Gungrave G.O.R.E.coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC sometime in 2022.
- Alaskan Truck Simulator, a realistic truck simulator, coming to PC in early 2022, got a new gameplay trailer at the show.
- A gameplay teaser for War Hospital, an intense strategy game set during WW1, coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC in late 2022.
- Jurassic World Evolution 2 coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC sometime in 2022 got a new trailer featuring two new dinosaurs during the show.
- Serial Cleaners, a stealth action crime game, set to release on all major gaming platforms sometime in 2022, got a new character trailer.
- New gameplay trailer for 9 Years of Shadows, an upcoming 2D action platformer, which is available for wishlist on Steam now.
- FAR: Changing Tides, the sequel to the award-winning vehicle-driven adventure, set to release on all major gaming platforms in early 2022, got a new gameplay trailer.
- Floating Origin Interactive revealed during The Future Games Show that the Open Beta for Balsa Model Flight Simulator is available on PC now.
- Team 17 announced Trepang2, a fast-paced gun-fu first-person shooter, during the show which is set to release on PC in 2022.
- A new character trailer featuring Catdog and April O’Neill was shared for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, an upcoming fighting game filled with a wide assortment of Nickelodeon characters, coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch later this year.

- Endlight, Diluvian Winds, The Crackpet Show, Loopmancer, Nura’s Wish all got gameplay trailer during the Awesome Indie Show at Gamescom 2021.
- OverBorder Studio and Team17’s Thymesia, a fast paced Bloodborne-styled action game, got a December 7, 2021 release date for PC.
- Prehistoric Kingdom, got a December 6, 2021 closed beta release date with early access arriving in April 2022.

- META Publishing and Owlcat Games revealed launch trailer for thePathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, set to release on September 2, 2021 on PC and in March 2022 on consoles.
- A Total War Saga: Troy’s Myhos DLC, arrving on Steam on September 2, 2021 got a trailer at the Awesome Indie Show.
- A gameplay trailer for Weird Beluga Studio’s Clid The Snail, arriving on August 31 on PS4.

- Dorfomantik revealed anew trailer for its Crative Mode update during the event.
- Gameplay trailer for Assetto Corsa Competizione and February 24, 2022 release date next-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S & X) was also revealed during the show. It will be absolutely free for current-gen owners of the game. Additonaly it was annocued that an Assetto Corsa Competizione mobile game is coming in less than one week.
