MINISFORUM has introduced the EliteMini X500, a new SFF Mini PC that includes AMD’s newest Ryzen 7 5700G Desktop APU. The EliteMini X500 is the successor to AMD’s Renoir (Ryzen 4000G) APU-equipped EliteMini X400.
The EliteMini HX90 Mini PC, which uses Ryzen 5000H CPUs, was previously introduced by MINISFORUM, while the X500 is a higher-end version that uses desktop-grade Ryzen 5000G APUs. MINISFORUM teased the EliteMini X500 and compared it to the HX90 Mini PC a while back.
Processor in EliteMini X500
The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G ‘Zen 3’ APU, which has a base frequency of 3.8 GHz, a boost clock of 4.6 GHz, 16 MB of L3 cache, and a TDP of up to 65W, will power the EliteMini X500. The chip additionally has 8 Vega Compute Units, totaling 512 stream processors running at 2000 MHz. The visual and display capabilities of this PC will be powered by integrated graphics. On the memory front, DDR4-3200 memory rates are supported, however, I/O is limited to retail PCIe Gen 3.0.
Connectivity
Other internal components include an STX board and an aluminum-finned heatsink solution with a 120mm fan on the MINISFORUM EliteMini X500. The entire unit is housed in a plastic clam-shell case with multiple vents to allow hot air to escape. PC I/O includes 1 HDMI, 1 DP, 2 Gigabit Ethernet Ports, 4 USB 3.1 Gen 2, 1 Clear CMOS, 1 MIC In, and a Power button. When fully built, the item weighs 980g and measures 62x154x153 mm (h*l*w). You get one regular SSD option and an additional 2.5-inch SSD/HDD bay for expansion.
Availability
The EliteMini X500 is released on September 3rd, 2021, and is available in three different versions. Starting at $859, the 16 GB DDR4 +512 GB SSD version will be the most affordable.
