There have been reports of the Samsung Galaxy M51 for quite a while now. Here’s what you need to know about the new device with the largest battery, from reportedly being halted at one time to making its global debut recently. Samsung’s M series currently spans the entire mobile market range, with models ranging from below Rs 10,000 to nearly Rs 30,000. The newly launched Galaxy M51 sits at the top of the lineup with a massive 7,000mAh and competitive specs.
BIGGEST BATTERY ON SAMSUNG GALAXY M51
The Samsung Galaxy M51 now holds the record, as indicated by the claims, for the biggest battery on a standard smartphone with a 7,000mAh battery pack. It supports 25W charging over USB Type-C (charging brick included in the box) claiming to carry the phone from 0 to complete in less than 2 hours. The kit also contains another cord, to charge other phones from the M51.
On the inside, this mid-ranger is equipped with the Snapdragon 730 G chipset, an 8nm-built octa-core SoC. This is combined with a capacity of up to 8 GB of RAM and storage of 128 GB. As for the software, it runs out-of-the-box on One UI 2.1, based on Android 10. It weighs 213 gram and is 9.5 mm thick.
CAMERA
The Samsung Galaxy M51 has a quad-camera setup consisting of the main 64MP f/1.8 lens, an ultra-wide 12MP lens, a 5MP depth sensor and a 5MP macro shooter on the rear. On the front is a selfie camera of 32MP which resides in what Samsung calls it, the Infinity-O hole notch. Apps including single-take, hyper-lapse and 4K video capture also make the cut.
DISPLAY
Moving to the display, we get a Super AMOLED Plus 6.7-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a Full HD+ resolution. It is secured by Gorilla Glass 3 and should therefore be more efficient than other implementations of AMOLEDs. The Power Button embeds the fingerprint reader and that is what most of the people are more comfortable with.
