The Long awaited Apple’s event mainly for the developers streamed last night. The main highlight of the show was since there was no one in the audience to applaud, apple still managed to successfully stream the event flawlessly. As the whole event was prerecorded, they utilized this whole quarantine situation and even used pretty great drone shots to show off their UFO themed facility. To sum up the whole event’s video production, they nailed it! They made 18 major announcements including the iOS 14, some tweaks to the Airpods and more. The major thing we noticed is the quality of the Apple’s Environment that’s been elevated to a higher level.
THE LATEST IOS 14! WHAT’S NEW?
There is a specific theme to the new IOS 14, you’ll notice it clearly when you’ll finally get the update which will roll out later this year. But the beta version is out so you can give it a try if you want. The major change to the appearance are the new Widgets customization that will invade your home screen to provide a more rich informative experience.
The widgets blending in between the apps are like some apple watch apps invading your iPhone. You can place them anywhere in between or at the corner of your home screen as they come with different shapes and sizes. You can access the different widgets through the widget gallery.
The next big change is the automated app library that organizes apps based on the categories. Instead of swiping hard to search for the desired apps this helps in quickly accessing them.
And the long awaited Picture in Picture mode finally arrives in this update too. You can swipe away while watching a full screen video and without missing anything it will automatically turn into a floating video screen which can be re-sized accordingly. Thus you can do your stuff without missing the video.
MEMOJI GETTING MORE VARIATIONS
Memojis are getting improved and vast in this new update. Including more age options, accessories like face masks and more emotions it’s not a major update unless you like to have your conversations through memojis.
MAPS OPTIMIZED FOR CYCLISTS AND EV USERS
Maps is now optimized for the cyclists it can track down the best routes for the cyclists or if there is increase in the elevation level on their route or if they need to carry their cycles upstairs to meet their desired location. This feature is available for the cyclists living in the New York City, San Francisco, Shanghai and Beijing. It’ll later get further updates for the additional cities that are being updated to this new feature.
The electric vehicle users will get notified if there is any charge station on their way to the marked location.
DEFAULT EMAIL AND BROWSER APPS
While this was not highlighted in the whole event so we took the responsibility to inform you. it’s a big relief for the iPhone users that now they can switch their default browser and their default email id. Phew.. Big relief!
IPAD OS 14 IS HERE TOO! WHAT’S NEW?
The widget situation is same in the iPad’s new OS update. But it is not sure how much screen space will the widgets cover.
A new sidebar for better navigation through apps
The search is now redesigned on iPad and it is just like the spotlight on macOS.
APPLE PENCIL GET’S THE MOST DESIRED UPDATES
A new feature called Scribble is added to the Apple Pencil that helps you to write anything in the text field and it will automatically convert it to text. It detects the context of the information you have written and it will suggest a suitable app to open it up with when tapped.
This feature supports a number of languages.
AIRPODS PARKOURING THROUGH DEVICES!
The software on the airpods is being updated by apple to make sure whenever you switch the device, the airpods will get connected to the device you are currently using. Now you get what Apple Environment matters so much to the apple users
Airpods pro are getting spatial audio update, the accelerometer is utilized to track your head and your device’s location to provide a seamless experience.
NEW THINGS APPLE WATCH WILL BE ABLE TO TRACK
The cute watch faces that are in trend nowadays now can be easily shared through face swapping. A cute face you like, ask the user to swap it to you. You can find more apple watch faces on the developer website.
HANDWASH
Apple watch can now track while you wash your hands. Firstly, It’ll sense the sound of water gushing. Secondly, a cute watchface will be appearing on the watch to give a countdown to your hand wash time. Cute! Isn’t it?
SLEEP
Watch can now track your sleep, it simply uses a sensor to monitor your motion but apple didn’t really went that deep to explain the whole tracking process but we will be getting further more updates on this topic.
DANCE
The watch’s workout app will use the gyroscope and accelerometer and the data collected from heart rate to track whether you’re stomping the dance floor or just running. In addition, This is a really innovative idea! KUDOS Apple!
THE APPLE TV UPDATE
tvOS 14 will support Picture in picture support like in the new IOS update any video streaming app will be able to get a secondary screen in Apple TV. It now supports the Xbox Elite 2 wireless controller and the Xbox Adaptive controller.
THE MACOS BIG SUR
Apple announced a major macos update calling it the MACOS BIG SUR. And the design is much similar to that of iOS and iPadOS. It even has some similar features that are announced in the iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 like messaging improvements and widgets and even custom memoji. More further information is on the way.
