God of War, a flagship title for Playstation, is heading to PC on January 14, 2022 and players can now pre-order it from Steam and Epic Games for $49.99. This new port marks the beginning of the initiative taken by Sony to bring more of the first-party titles to PC.
In the corporate report last year Sony said, “Playstation will traverse dilating our first-party titles to the PC platform, for the promotion of further growth in our profitability.” This port is the biggest Sony sole to come to the PC yet.
The God of War PC port will include 4K support, an unlocked frame rate, controls personalization, Nvidia DLSS (along with its Reflex low-latency technology for “a more responsive experience”) and 21:9 ultra widescreen aspect ratio support.
Sony said in blogpost that these features will provide players with a wide range of graphical settings, “From higher resolution shadows and improved screen space reflections to enhancements to the context occlusion pipeline with GTAO and SSDO.”
The God of War on PC will support both the DualShock 4 and the DualSense controllers, Playstation has confirmed. Also, the mouse and keyboard players will be able to fully redesign their controls to create the best setup.
The God of War port will contain all previously released digital content. The add-on that comes with the PC version are:
- Exile’s Guardian shield skin
- Buckler of the Forge Shield Skin
- Death’s Vow Armors for Kratos and Atreus
- Shining Elven Soul Shield Skin
- Dokkenshieldr Shield Skin
God of War, orginally released for PS4, in April 2018 has sold 19.5 million copies as of August 2021, reports Sony. Its sequel, God of War Ragnarok, will be released for PS4 and PS5 in 2022.
