After making its debut in the TWS market with its latest ProBuds, smartphone manufacturer LAVA is now planning to launch its first 5G phone, which could be priced between Rs 17,000 and Rs 20,000, in the country as soon as this Diwali along with a smartwatch.
Tejinder Singh, product manager of LAVA confirmed this along with the company’s plans for H2 of 2021 in an interview with Gizbot and said, “We are planning to launch our first 5G smartphone near Diwali along with a new technology that will be unique and you will not get in any other device.”
Tejinder exclusively told Gizbot that “LAVA will launch a 5G smartphone with premium features and the smartphone will go on sale for between Rs 17,000 and Rs. 20,000.” To incorporate the 5G technology LAVA is supposed to be negotiating with telecom operators opportunities to get into the market.
Further talking about the company’s plan, he discussed plans to enter into new countries like Latin America, they are currently operating in more than 20 countries and are looking to venture out into Southeast Asian countries and some African countries as well.
Tejinder also revealed that they are working on a smartwatch that will be released later this year near Diwali. However, he did not share any hardware-related details about both the products for now.
In other news, Micromax is planning to unveil its affordable In 2b on July 30 with In 2c could receive a launch delay. Both smartphones are expected to be priced under Rs, 10,000 and could feature UniSoc Chipset.
