As a solution to our hybrid lifestyle during the pandemic, Lenovo has recently announced two new affordable Chromebooks – 14-inch IdeaPad 5i and 13-inch IdeaPad Flex 5i powered by Intel’s latest 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors – for the modern home office, home classroom, and beyond.
IdeaPad 5i
14-inch IdeaPad 5i Chromebook features an FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS display with 300 nits and an optional touchscreen. It is powered by 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors up to Intel Core i5-1135G7 with a 4GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of SSD storage. It has a battery life of up to 10 hours.
For connectivity, it has two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, one USB 3.1 Type-A port. The device also has a MicroSD card, a combo jack for microphones/headphones, Bluetooth 5.1, and Wi-Fi 6. This more conventional laptop is designed for students and workers with a preference for Chrome OS, Google’s Cloud-centric operating system which is as mobile and untethered as them.
The laptop is available in two colors, Sand and Storm Grey2, and its lightweight and slim frame are designed to be carried anywhere. An optional backlit keyboard is also offered that makes keys visible in dim light. Last but not least, there is an LED light bar that changes color to indicate the power capacity.
The IdeaPad 5i will be available in July this year with a starting price of €399.
IdeaPad Flex 5i
If you want more flexibility, then IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook is for you. A 13.3-inch IdeaPad Flex 5i features a Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS touchscreen display with 250 nits brightness. It can fold back to meet every requirement. It has the same processor and connectivity parts as of the 5i.
It comes with a 4GB or 8GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB eMMC or 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of SSD. An optional Digital Pen, the 2-in-1 convertible is converted in a blink of an eye from a productivity machine to a creativity machine at an entertainment center. With the help of Stereo speakers and built-in amplifiers certified by Waves MaxxAudio, the audio is more clear and louder by 40% than the previous generations. It has up to 10 hours of battery life.
For a better outdoor readability experience, buyers can also opt for an OLED panel. It is available in two colors- Abyss Blue and Iron Grey. The IdeaPad Flex 5i will be available in July this year with a starting price of €399.
L15 Mobile Monitor
Along with these two Lenovo has also launched a Mobile Monitor for hybrid workers who don’t need a laptop and can work from their phones. This USB-C L15 Mobile Monitor offers a large 15.6-inch 1920×1080 IPS anti-glare display screen with advanced low blue light technology for comfortable all-day use fitted in a incredibly lightweight body of 860 grams. It can easily connected via a USB Type-C cable which can also offer simultaneous power pass-through to two devices (with video out).
L15 USB-C Mobile Monitor is easy-to-carry and comes with a protective sleeve to easily slip into your bag. t will arrive later in September for €299.
