“It’s very, very early days and we’ve got a lot of work to do in the months ahead, but this is the first step,” writes Netflix. Well yes, the streaming gaints has finally begun to expand into mobile gaming, as they have annouced that the two Netflix games – Stranger Things:1984 and Stranger Things 3 – is now available for free to Android users with a Netflix subscription, but only if you are based in Poland. The games will have no ads, no in-app purchases, and no extra cost.
How to Access Netflix Games
Firstly, the major thing to know is for now the two Netflix games are available for only those subscribers who are based in Poland.
Further, to access the Netflix games, log in to your Netflix on your Android device, scroll and tap on the games section. Wait, it doesn’t end here. You need to download the game from the Google Play Store using the access links available in the gaming section. (Note that you can still download these games from Play Sotre direclty but first you’ll need to confirm your Netflix log-in credentials for that.)
Netflix’s Say on Expanding into Gaming
This idea of expanding into gaming was explained by them as that they view gaming as another new content category for Netflix, similar to the expansion into original films, animation, and unscripted TV.
Here’s what streaming giants have to say,
“We are excited as ever about our movies and tv series offering and we expect a long runway of increasing investment and growth across all of our existing content categories but since we are nearly a decade into our push into original programming, we think that the time is right to learn more about how our members’ values games.”
What’s Next
Netflix is not going to stop just here with two games. It’s just a testing phase going on and Netflix has set future plans too, to expand this testing to iOS as well. Moreover, according to reports, Netflix Mobile Gaming will work more like Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass, in order to avoid the hurdles of cloud gaming services.
