OnePlus Nord CE 5G and Nord N200 officially confirmed but only one will release in India

Update: In an interview with PCMag, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that Nord N200 will launch on June 15 in the US and Canada along with confirming some key specs too. Nord N200 5G will have a 6.49-inch 90Hz IPS LCD and a triple-camera setup on its back. 

Original Article: After witnessing immense success with the affordable Nord N-Series last year, OnePlus is planning to provide more. As the company has now officially confirmed that OnePlus Nord CE 5G is coming to India on June 10. CEO Pete Lau also asserted the upcoming arrival of two new Nord smartphones, one of which is the OnePlus Nord CE, and the second one will be the OnePlus Nord N200. Starting from June 10, only the Nord CE will go official in India and Europe, while the Nord N200 will stay limited to the United States and doesn’t have a release just yet.

OnePlus has also confirmed several other details about the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE, besides the launch date. Let us explore some aspects that have been confirmed ahead of the June 10 launch.

OnePlus Nord CE affordable 5G smartphone

Since last year, OnePlus has announced 5G smartphones across several price segments, and the trend is expected to continue this year as well. OnePlus CEO in a press note confirmed that the currently expected OnePlus Nord CE is a 5G smartphone.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G will make the “OnePlus experience more accessible than ever”, OnePlus CEO said in an official press note. This clearly hints that the upcoming OnePlus Nord smartphone will follow a similar pricing strategy as the original OnePlus Nord, launched last year. For the sake of reference, the Nord was launched at a price of Rs 24,999 for the base 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G – What does CE stand for?

The upcoming smartphone is being called the OnePlus Nord CE 5G where CE stands for “core edition”. The company noted in an official blog post,

The “CE” in the OnePlus Nord CE 5G stands for “Core Edition.” As the name suggests, this is a product which really aims to deliver a fantastic essential experience. We distilled the original Nord down to its core elements and added a couple of extra features to bring you a phone that’s a little more than you’d expect, at an even more affordable price.
