As a subsection of the ongoing competition called the Valorant Champions Tour, Riot Games have announced a new competition called VCT Game Changers. Which according to Riot, will “create competitive opportunities for women and marginalized genders within Valorant.”
The program will include a series of “top tier” competitions throughout 2021. On the same Executive Producer Anna ‘SuperCakes’ Donlon says that:
“Competing in games as a woman can be a daunting task, oftentimes resulting in a very real competitive disadvantage. While we’re addressing this challenge in-game, with improvements to chat, voice communications, and mitigation of griefing, we also see an opportunity to take another step with esports.”
As reported by Dextro, the main leg of the VCT Game Changers Series, kicks off in March 2021 in North America.
Riot Games also says that the program is “a year-long effort to build a Valorant Champions Tour that is more representative of the diversity of the Valorant community.”
