Samsung is expected to launch some of its new devices including Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Watch 4 Series, and new Galaxy Buds in an ‘Unpacked Event’ on August 11. However, a new report from news outlet Korea Herald is claiming that Samsung is also planning to launch Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite (an more affordable foldable smartphone) along with other two foldables – Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Now here is a thing that, earlier there was a rumor by display analyst Ross Young that Samsung has canceled the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite due to an ongoing chip shortage and also said that Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be priced where its Lite model waould have been. But now as mentioned above, Korean Herald report says that Samsung is still planning to launch Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite in their Unpacked event on August 11, casuing some last-minute confusion about the pricing of the devices.
Specs of Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite has not yet been revealed but it is expected to target a mass market because of its affordable pricing. Also previsouly ET News reported that Samsung is planning to launch two Galaxy Z Flip smartphones with different performance and features in 2021. Which makes clear that the company was working on two Z Flip 3 devices at some stage.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is expected to feautre a 6.7 inch super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by Snapdragon 888 processor running on Android 11 based OneUI 3.1 software, 8GB RAM plus 256 GB storage configuration, a dual-camera 12MP + 12MP on the back and 10MP camera on the front. And recently the price of Galaxy Z Flip 3 has also revealed by @FrontTron in tweet saying “Galaxy Z Flip 3 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will cost $1,249.”
Now there has been some rumors that “Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 models would be 20% cheaper than last year’s model,” which gives a estimated price tag of below $1,000 to Galaxy Z Flip 3, adding weight to rumors about Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite that could be the sub-$1,000 device that Samsung will need to pump up the success of the Unpacked Event on August 11.
