Samsung has recently launched its next iteration of foldable phones and is months away from launching its next Galaxy S flagships – Galaxy S22 series – with Exynos 2200 SoC (its first chipset with an AMD GPU). But according to the Twitter tipster, FrontTron this next flagship from Samsung can face some issues regarding its global availability due to the same chipset. Additionally, FrontTron has also dished out several key specs of the Galaxy S22 series, rumored to launch in three varieties: “Base” Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Rumored Specs of Galaxy S22 series
Based on the leaks from both Tron and MauriQHD, Galaxy S22 series will have multiple options from display sizes to battery capacity. Let’s talk about them in little detail.
Galaxy S22 (Base)
The base model will have a 6.06 inch LTPS display (low-temperature polysilicon) with a triple camera setup on the back consisting of a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP telephoto sensor, and have a 12 MP ultra-wide shooter. The model will be powered by a 3800mAh battery.
Galaxy S22 Plus
The Galaxy S22 Plus will have a display of 6.55 inches LTPS display with the same triple camera setup as the base model on the back consisting of a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP telephoto sensor, and have a 12 MP ultra-wide shooter. The model will be powered by a 4600mAh battery.
Galaxy S22 Ultra
Now, the Galaxy S22 ultra will have a 6.81-inch screen with an LTPO panel (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide like OnePlus 9 Pro). Coming to the optics it will have a 108 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, and two 12 MP telephoto shooters (with laser autofocus) and is powered by a 5000mAh battery.
To make it more realistic ConceptCreator and LetsGoDigital have made renders based on the leaks and shared a video showing the design of the S22 series.
Availability issues due to Exynos 2200
Along with revealing the specs, Tron has also datils the availability issue of the Galaxy S22 series due to its most powerful Exynos 2200 chipset with AMD graphics, which will make it capable of ray tracing and variable rate shading.
According to his resources, the majority of Galaxy S22 models will be using Snapdragon’s upcoming 898 chipset instead of the Exynos 2200, due to production issues resulting in low yields. And is expected that Samsung will launch Exynos-powered models in only a few markets, excluding South Korea. So the majority of Galaxy S22 models will launch with the Snapdragon 898 having Samsung 4LPX RAM and Adreno GPU, not the AMD one.
