Terry Cavanagh, the creator of the side-scrolling platform game VVVVVV and Super Hexagon, has created and released a new game “Climb to the Giant” inside another game using the Roblox gaming platform.

As a platform dedicated to creating and sharing games, Roblox has accumulated a large number of free games since its launch in 2006. These games are created by the community, but especially skilled users can create a gaming experience that rivals the huge AAA championship. Some of the famous games available on Roblox include Robot 64, a 3D platformer inspired by Nintendo’s memorable Super Mario 64, and a randomly generated dungeon crawler called the Super Cube Cavern. A fast-paced first-person shooter called “Energy Assault” and a powerful golf simulator called “Super Golf”! It is also one of the best Roblox games.

And recently, Terry Cavanagh, the creator of VVVVVV, announced via Twitter that his next project has been created and launched in Roblox, a game designed for children. Since April, developers have been posting updates to their “obby” progress. The term “obby” is used to describe obstacle routes or platform names made within Roblox. After months of development, the new game “Climb to the Giant” was recently launched on May 10. Like all games released on Roblox, Cavanagh’s new game is completely free.

He writes on his blog that “For the past year or so, I’ve been kinda fascinated by Roblox.” What initially started as a project he planned to spend about a week on evolved into a nearly three-month undertaking, making it one of his biggest freeware releases to date. Cavanagh documented the process of working on the “Climb to the Giant” over on his personal Twitter account. “I didn’t expect how much I was going to love working in Roblox Studio,” he said. “This is probably not going to be my last Roblox game!”
