After winning a Twitter poll for the most popular brand against Skittles by just 1% and keeping its promise of making a mini-fridge, Microsoft has now annoucned that is Xbox Series X Mini Fridge will be available for preorder starting on October 19th, for a price of $99.99 / £89.99 / €99, with expected shipping at some point in December 2021.
Initially, it was thought that the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge could be an April Fool’s prank, but in mid-June, Microsoft confirmed that the product would indeed come to market. Microsoft put forward that it is a concept of “Xbox and Chill” for hardcore gamers and worked with Ukonic!, a merchandise manufacturer of the mini-fridge, which has LEDs and a design to match the Xbox Series X.
Now talking about its spec, Microsoft’s Mini Frigde has enough space inside for up to 12 cans and there are also two pockets on the inside of the door, which seem small to be practical. Microsoft claims that the mini-fridge comes with a DC power adapter, which is easier to carry around. The Fridge also comes with a USB port on the front that would allow charging a cell phone or a set of wireless headphones.
The company previously said that the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge will be available to purchase exclusively from Target and Tagret.com in the United States, in Canada directly from Microsoft’s Xbox Gear store in December and in the UK it will be available from GAME, priced at £89.99. Whereas, Xbox fans in France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, The Netherlands, and Poland will have an opportunity to purchase the mini-fridge for €99.00 from GameStop EU, Micromania and Toynk (via Amazon).
Microsoft is planning to bring the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge to more markets next year, but that will depend on regulatory approvals and restrictions in each country.
