Moto G100: New Flagship Mobile
The Moto G100 is the latest addition to Motorola’s iconic Moto G line of smartphones. The smartphone is, as expected, a rebranded version of the Motorola Edge S, which was released in China earlier this year. The Moto G series has always been targeted at the budget market, but the new Moto G100 is a higher-end smartphone with flagship-level performance.
Processor And Storage
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is a slightly enhanced version of last year’s Snapdragon 865, is used in the smartphone. The Moto G100 is also the first smartphone in the Moto G series to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800-series processor. The phone also has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be extended with a microSD card.
Display, Camera, and Refresh Rates
The 6.7-inch display has a Full-HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and HDR10 compatibility. The dual front-facing cameras are located in two hole-punch cutouts on the top left of the display: a 16-megapixel main wide and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide. Four cameras are located in a square module at the back, with a dual-LED flash below.
A ring flash is also mounted around the ultra-wide 16-megapixel sensor, which can also take macro images. A 64-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture lens and 1/2′′ sensor, a 2-megapixel fixed-focus camera to capture depth, and a ToF sensor round out the rear cameras. The camera also has an Audio Zoom feature that allows for directional audio capture.
Battery Life
Moto G100 comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging, 5G (sub-6GHz) connectivity, Android 11 out of the box, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a dedicated Google Assistant button are just a few of the other features.
Luxurious features
Moto G100 will also come with Motorola’s “Ready For” connectivity suite, which works similarly to Samsung’s DeX in that it lets you connect the phone to a TV or monitor through an optional dock or a USB-C to HDMI cable. For a more interactive experience, you can also use this feature to cast video calls and games to larger screens. Notably, in some countries, the dock will be available as part of a package, while others will only receive the HDMI cable.
Price and Availability
The Moto G100 will be available in Iridescent Sky, Iridescent Ocean, and Slate Grey colors starting today in Europe and select Latin American markets. The smartphone is priced at £449.99 in the UK, according to Android Central, and is expected to be ₹17,999 in India.
