Motorola has officially revealed the Motorola Moto Defy smartphone, following numerous leaks and speculations. After 11 years, the Moto Defy series is making a reappearance. In 2010, the company released the first handset in the Moto Defy series. It was the first dustproof and water-resistant device in the world.
The new Motorola Moto Defy rugged smartphone follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, with a double-sealed exterior, IP68 rating, and MIL-SPEC 810H certification. Motorola says the phone can work even in extreme temperatures (+55°C to -25°C). The phone has a 6.5-inch HD+ display and runs on the Snapdragon 662 processor. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a 5000mAh battery.
Motorola Moto Defy Pricing
With a sleek and textured gripping finish design, the Motorola Moto Defy is available in Forged Green or Black. The Moto Defy costs about 329 Euros (Rs 29,101). In the coming week, the smartphone will be offered in a few Southern European markets. Motorola has not yet provided information about the handset’s global availability.
Motorola Moto Defy Specs and Features
The Bullitt Group, which primarily makes and sells the CAT series of rugged smartphones, is responsible for the Motorola Moto Defy tough smartphone. For added protection, the display panel is coated with 0.7mm Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and is recessed 0.5mm. Device is drop-proof up to a height of 1.8 meters and has a unique dual-layer TPU cover, giving it full underwater protection at 1.5-meter depth for up to 35 minutes.
Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 662 chipset is under the hood of the smartphone. It also supports microSD cards for additional storage. On the software front, the gadget runs Android 10 out of the box, which is unfortunate. Motorola did state, though, that the handset will be upgradeable to Android 11 in the future. A programmable key with Push to Talk mode is also included on the side device.
Motorola Moto Defy is equipped with a triple-camera system for imaging. A 48MP f/1.8 primary camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens are all included in the phone. The device has an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The handset has a hardware fingerprint sensor built into the back camera module.
Dual-SIM compatibility, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a 5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C connector are all included in the device’s connectivity features. The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery that can charge at 20W.
