Launched last year, OnePlus Nord become highly popular in the premium mid-range segment, and now some recent reports are suggesting that its successor reportedly called “OnePlus Nord 2” could launch as soon as in the Q3 of 2021.
Unannounced OnePlus Nord 2 spotted
First spotted by Android Police, the unannounced OnePlus Nord 2 appeared in the FAQ section (now deleted) of the company’s ongoing promo in partnership with Google Stadia. In this promo, OnePlus is allowing its smartphone users from select EU nations such as the U.K. France, and Germany to claim a Stadia Premiere Edition for free until Sept. 30.
And on its FAQ section, the OnePlus Nord 2 was listed as an eligible device for this offer with other flagships like the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 8T, and OnePlus Nord from 2020 and 2021. Now, this could be considered as the official mention of the Nord 2, and we can expect this OnePlus Nord successor to launch before Sept. 30, because the Google Stadio offer will expire after that.
OnePlus Nord 2 and Nord CE 5G India launch confirmed
This Q3 launch of Nord 2 also contradicts the info shared by leaker Mukul Sharma aka Stufflistings. Who claims that two OnePlus smartphones are expected to launch next month, on June 10 and June 25. As reported by Techquila, Mukul also shared the codenames of these two smartphones from their Indian BIS certification confirming their India launch.
As you can see Mukul shared a tweet in which, OnePlus Nord CE 5G, has a codename EBBA and model number EB2101. On the other hand, OnePlus Nord 2 was registered with codename Denniz and model number DN2101.
OnePlus Nord 2 rumored specs
Most of the spec details and features are still under wraps, but according to the rumor mill, the OnePlus Nord 2 is expected to be affordable, by offering a different chipset and slightly lower features.
