Chiphell forums user has spotted an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT LC graphic card in China. The Big Navi graphics card is a part of a $3300 pre-built gaming PC on Tmall whose exterior is very similar to AMD’s reference design, but with added liquid cooling.
The merchant introduced the graphics card by the name AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT LC (could be unreleased RX 6900 XTX) and claiming it to be a special edition SKU. In AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT LC – ‘LC’ might stand for liquid cooling. The seller didn’t mention the manufacturer’s name but claimed that this variant offers 10% higher performance than the typical Radeon RX 6900 XT. This statement suggests that the liquid-cooled Radeon RX 6900 XT could be leveraging the Navi 21 XTXH silicon that has been expected to have higher clock rates.
Design and Features of AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT LC
As reported by Tom’s Hardware, The RDNA 2 graphics card’s shroud exhibits two sleek, aluminum plates on both sides, which signifies the probability of a strict liquid-cooled design and a Radeon ‘R’ logo in the middle. The shining Radeon logo is accompanied by what appears to be an RGB LED bar for added eye candy. The card has the same design scheme as the Radeon RX 6000 RDNA 2 series graphics cards with a silver and black color. It appears a little similar to what we previously saw in the leaked liquid-cooled Radeon RX 6900 XTX GPU.
The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT LC is coming with a single 120mm AIO radiator. The custom Radeon RX 6900 XT models have been released with 240mm and 360mm radiators by graphics card vendors. Additionally, The Radeon RX 6900 XT is a 300W graphics card so Radeon-branded 120mm radiator is doubted to be sufficient. The cooling solution is expected to work hard to keep the graphics card’s temperatures under control which may end up being very noisy.
We are not sure regarding that AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT LC is employing the Navi 21 XTXH or not, but the graphics card only commands a pair of 8-pin PCIe power connectors. As we know 700W power supply is still the minimum capacity recommended to feed the RDNA 2 graphics card.
The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT LC has so far only appeared on Chinese retailers and news sites which means that the card might be exclusive to the Asian market. While AMD definitely can’t miss the opportunity to launch an enthusiast-grade graphics card in other markets. Now, it’s on jury whether we’ll see the Radeon RX 6800 XT LC outside of the Asian market.
