In an interview with Comic Book Movie director Tony Cervone has confirmed that the Scoob Sequel is in development after the huge success of last year’s Scoob! – A animated mystery comedy film based on Hanna-Barbera’s Scooby-Doo franchise.
Here’s what Tony Cervone said to Comic Book Movie:
“Actually we are kicking the tires on a follow-up to Scoob. It hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s something we are all excited about. The whole creative team that made the first movie is still around and back and working on something new. It was needed to create this Hanna-Barbera Cinematic Universe, and it’s exciting return to it.”
When Scoob! was released in May 2020 it was like a Revival of the Scooby-Doo and Mystery Inc. characters. But amid the lockdown, as the situation worsened, the halt to movie theaters hit the earnings of the film Scoob! But despite this, the popularity and following of the film have literally grown enough to create buzz for the sequel talks. And as a result, makers have thought of bringing a sequel.
Will there be something creative and fun in the Scoob sequel?
As shared by Tony Cervone he feels like the Barbara universe is kind of a separate universe and acts at its own thing, which according to us is very true. And so the makers have tried to create an alternate universe to allow all things to happen there too.
Well, basically the main motive is to maintain already existing loving characters and adding more to it keeping that past thing as it was. As said by Tony, “Honor the past and honor our collective memory while also having to do something new”.
So this was all about the latest news about the Scoob Sequel. Stay tuned with us as for now no official announcement about the Scoob Sequel has been made but yes it is expected to be announced soon.
