A new report from popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple is planning to release its next-gen entry-level iPhone SE 2022 with 5G and an upgraded processor in first half of next year.
As reported by Macrumors, Kuo says that the next phone (SE 3) in iPhone SE lineup will have same form factor as current SE, but will support 5G, and have a upgraded A-series processor. However, the design of this new SE will be “roughly the same” as the existing one.
Kuo also claims that Apple’s iPhone SE 2022 will be the “cheapest 5G iPhone ever.” So we can expect it to be priced lower than iPhone 12 mini which is the most affordable iPhone with 5G right now priced at $699.
Apart form this, there have been some rumors of an iPhone “SE Plus” with a larger display and a Touch ID power button, but it’s not clear if its going to release next year or later.
