According to a new report, the long-rumored and yet-to-be-announced Nintendo Switch Pro might release in 2022. This new upgraded model of the Nintendo Switch has been in talks since last year and is likely to feature Samsung’s rigid OLED display and 4K UHD graphic output. This new system will complete the trio of its consoles (i.e. Switch, Switch Pro, Switch Lite), and is suppose to fulfill the needs of every gamer around the world.

As reported by Wccftech, YouTube Channel SwitchUp has recently tweeted that a reliable manufacturer of Nintendo Switch peripherals from China, who is working on new accessories compatible with the new system, has been informed about “a 2022 worldwide release window for the new system.”

No Switch Pro in 2021. Reliable peripheral manufacturing source from China; working on products to be adapted for it. Says they’ve been told 2022 global market release. Let’s hope it’s wrong :/

Well, the information is not confirmed just yet, but the possibility of happening this is quite high. And for that one reason could be the current semi-conductor shortage due to which many hardware and console manufacturers having trouble keeping up with demand and Nintendo surely won’t be thinking to face the same issue with its new system (Nintendo Switch Pro). Another reason could the launch of an HD remake of Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and titles like Pokémon Legends: Arceus in 2022. Each of these titles could perform incredibly well upon their release and to launch a new upgraded system alongside these titles could more profitable for Nintendo.

But as this is just a theory and nothing written on the stone just yet, we tell you to take this with a grain of salt. However, Nintendo Switch Pro is expected to feature a 7-inch 720p rigid OLED panel and will be capable of delivering 4K graphics when in docked mode (by using Nvidia’s DLSS AI upscaling techniques), so a 720p display in handheld mode could be for preserving the battery life.
