Twitter user CyberPunkCat is claming that AMD is working on a new Radeon RX 6900 XTX, its fastest Big Navi 21 GPU-based graphics card, and has shared a slide revelaing that it’ll feature higher clock speeds and faster memory to knock Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3090 out of the competition.

Currently, there are only two versions of the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, a standard version featuring the Navi 21 XT GPU and a higher-binned version featuring the Navi 21 XTXH GPU. Now its clear that if AMD plaaning a third version to beat RTX 3090 then it will surely feautre the Navi 21 XTHX GPU, the fastest Navi 21 silicon.

As per the leaked slide, AMD Radeon RX 6900 XTX will have a FP32 performance up to 24.9 TFLOPs and will use Navi 21 XTXH GPU featuring a boost clock of 2435 MHz. Whereas, the current two versions feature a compute horsepower of 23.04 TFLOPs with a boost clock of 2435 MHz.

Radeon RX 6900 XTX leaked slide

There is an improvement in memory as well, the leaked slide confirms that Radeon RX 6900 XTX will feature 18 Gbps memory delivering an honest upgrade in bandwidth, where the regular Radeon RX 6900 XT features 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory. The graphic card’s bandwidth will a boost of 576 GB/s from the previous 512 GB/s.

Overall RX 6900 XTX will have an 8% improvement in the boost clock and up to 13% higher throughput in comparison to the regular Radeon RX 6900 XT. The RX 6900 XTX is alleged to be an O.E.M only as AMD had already offered an RX 6900 XT LC (liquid-cooled) version to its PC and OEM partners only.

The slide is assuring expansion of the AMD RDNA family, giving hints for a proper retail launch, not confirmed yet. The Radeon RX 6900 XT performance was already near GeForce RTX 3090. It’s very sure that with new additions Radeon RX 6900 XTX will surpass RTX 3090. But here comes the fun part, Nvidia is also rumored to working on a GeForce RTX 3090 Super based on the GA102 silicon chip featuring 10,752 CUDA cores and a higher 400 W+ TDP.
