GTA Online’s “The Cayo Perico Heist” update will launch on 15th December

Rockstar Games has finally announced its long-rumored winter heist update and showing why GTA Online is still going strong after seven years. Launching on December 15th, the update will add a new location as a part of the first GTA Online solo heist named “The Cayo Perica Heist”.

This update is described as GTA Online’s “biggest update yet”, introduces Cayo Perico as a major map expansion, and invites GTA Online players to infiltrate the remote island compound during the Rockstar’s latest heist of the world’s most notorious drug dealer.

“It’s time to raise the stakes higher than ever before. You’ve broken a convicted spy out of Bolingbroke Penitentiary. You’ve saved the world from an egomaniacal tech billionaire. And you’ve beaten the odds to drain a casino of its cash. This time, you’re taking on an entire island.”

Also in the blog post, Rockstar says, players will have to find their own ways to make a breach at Cayo Perico, which is one of the most secure private islands in the entire world. And as we said before this new heist is the first GTA Online solo heist, which means you can run it alone or with up to three friends or random players.

Your mission will be to infiltrate the guarded location on the tropical island and to escape back to Los Santos with evidence as well as with as much gold and drug money you can carry.

If not had enough this update will also add some other goodies to the store too. Such as new vehicles and tactical weapons, new social spaces within the island where you and your friends can dance and party the night, as well as new guest DJs, and over 100 new songs.

Along with these Rockstar is also introducing “a very large, very versatile, and very heavily armed submarine HQ with plenty of other surprises,” which will be revealed closer to The Cayo Perico Heist’s launch on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on 15th December.
