Telegram founder, Pavel Durov, who recently slammed Facebook saying that “they have a lack of respect for the user base”, has now again been in limelight for attacking Apple and saying “iPhone users are digital slaves”. Telegram at present has 500 million users and is giving a tough fight to other messaging apps like Whatsapp.
Telegram founder considers Apple’s approach as ‘Totalitarian’
So this time, Apple seems to be on the target. Telegram founder says Apple “iPhone users are digital slaves” amid the accusations of Chinese surveillance.
Apple’s Business model
Pavel Durov recently through his public Telegram channel said that “Apple is very efficient at pursuing their business model, which is based on selling overpriced, obsolete hardware to customers locked in their ecosystem.”
Apple gives Experience of Middle Ages
Sharing his own experience Durov said that “Every time when I use an iPhone to test my iOS app, it feels like I’m thrown back to the middle ages.”
Android offers better Display
He didn’t stop here but talking about the display Durov said that “Android offers much better display than Apple. Android having a 120z display has smoother animations as compared to Apple’s 60Hz display.”
Apple controls their users
After talking about hardware, Pavel Durov mentioned that Apple is controlling its users. He said “You are only allowed to use apps that Apple lets you install via their App Store, and you can only use Apple’s iCloud to natively back up your data”
Totalitarian Approach
Further, Durov claimed that Apple’s approach is completely Totalitarian, saying that “It’s no wonder that Apple’s totalitarian approach is so appreciated by the Communist Party of China, which – thanks to Apple – now has complete control over the apps and data of all of its citizens who rely on iPhones.”
What made Durvo say all this?
So readers, all these comments on Apple by Telegram’s founder Pavel Durov were reported (via Android Central) in response to the New York Times investigation on Apple’s relationship with China. Although there are many reasons behind Telegram’s founder being against Apple, one of the major reasons is that in 2018 Apple removed Telegram from their App Store due to increased concern of child pornography being shared. Since then this rift has developed between the two.
