Q-Latch – Easy SSD Installation
What can be more irritating than repeatedly dropping the super tiny screw which helps in installing an M.2 solid-state drive in your PC? But Asus has come up with a simple solution.
This new solution is named Q-Latch and is much simpler as it is made of a plastic retaining lever that is rotatable to its original position with a single swipe of your thumb. This new Q-Latch can be found in ASUS new Z590 and B560 motherboards but it has not been rolled out for the most expensive boards of the company.
Plastic retaining clips
Though most of us might wonder that this idea is not entirely new as this could be found in business-oriented laptops and desktops that your sysadmin might have procured which featured plastic retaining clips in the past. But it is for the first time observed in the DIY desktop components.
The new versions of SSDs don’t have these screws, so you might think of saving your present SSDs to use them on these motherboards. This can be tricky to install as it is somewhat new.
