The explosion in hype for Pokémon trading cards comes when these high demand products started selling out quickly at retailers and older cards started selling for record-breaking prices at auction with a Blastoise card sold for $375,000 just last month by third-party sellers. Card opening videos of the same have also blown up on YouTube and Twitch over the last year, helping to increase the hype for new and rare cards.

However, the latest set of trading card game’s, “Shining Fates” is officially set to be launched on February 19.
