Netflix has dropped the announcement trailer for the 8 episode long series, Dota: Dragon’s Blood. This series will explore the world of the MOBA video game, DOTA 2 by Valve. The streamer has announced March 25 as the premiere date for this series. Studio MIR (South Korean studio famous for the Legend of Korra, The death of Superman, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, and many more) is going to handle the animation for Dota: Dragon’s Blood.

DOTA 2 currently holds multiple records for top e-sports tournament reward earning and holds millions of players daily. It is actually a sequel to Defense of the Ancients by Valve.
According to Netflix press release, The upcoming fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world, following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”
Not much has been revealed yet apart from the above statement. According to the showrunner, Ashely Edward Miller (who has produced X-Men: First class, Thor, etc.), this adult-oriented story will weave together epic, emotions, music, cinematic animation, and our favourite characters from the game world.
Rio Games has been working on an animation series showcasing the world of Arcane (League of Legends universe). Originally this series was planned to be released last year, but it is possibly scheduled to come out this year.
