Opening Night Live Gamescom 2021, hosted by Geoff Keighley, had some seriously big game reveals, including Halo Infinite’s release date, an official announcement of Marvel’s XCOM game “Midnight Suns”, tons of new trailers, gameplays, indies reveals and so much more.

As you can see, it was a pretty huge event and we have plenty to dig into. So without wasting any more time let’s take a look at everything announced during the Opening Night Live Gamescom 2021.

Halo Infinite (Release Date)

After being mysteriously missing from Xbox’s Gamescom 2021 event, Microsoft revealed that Halo Infinite will officially release on December 8, 2021, and dropped a new cinematic trailer for Season 1 of its free-to-play multiplayer. Halo Infinite’s campaign and multiplayer will release concurrently on the same day, but unfortunately, it will be missing co-op and Forge custom games at launch.

Along with this, in celebration of Halo’s 20th anniversary, Microsoft also revealed a Spartan 117 themed limited edition custom Series 2 Elite controller and Xbox Series X, both of which look absolutely incredible and are available for preorder today.

Saints Row (Reboot)

A brand new Saints Row (reboot), launching on February 25, 2022, on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, got a reveal trailer at the Opening Night Live event showing the fictional American Southwest city of Santo Ileso.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns

After being heavily rumored, 2K Games finally revealed Firaxis’s Marvel XCOM game, Midnight Sons – a tactical RPG that explores the story of a brand-new customizable superhero (yes you can customize your hero) – set to be released in March 2022 with the first gameplay set to be revealed on September 1, 2021. it includes iconic Marvel characters like Dr Strange, Wolverine, Iron Man, Blade, Ghost Rider, and more.

Horizon Forbidden West (Delayed to 2022)

One of the most hotly anticipated PlayStation exclusive games, Horizon Forbidden West is now set to release on PS4 and PS5 on February 18, 2022, with preorders set to open on September 2, 2021. And to help you out a little, Guerrilla Games has released a 60 FPS patch for Horizon Zero Dawn for PS5.

Call of Duty: Vanguard (Gameplay Trailer)

During Opening Night Live, Activision showed nearly 10 minutes of uninterrupted gameplay footage from its single-player campaign, and Polina – one of its main characters. Call of Duty: Vanguard is officially set to release on November 5, 2021.

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, set to be released on September 24, got an extended preview trailer showing all the major additions and changes included in the new edition of the game. In this Hideo Kojima is expanding upon his original vision with a ton of new content, quality-of-life improvements, and more.

Far Cry 6 (New Story Trailer)

Valheim (Hearth and Home update)

The long-awaited Valheim: Hearth and Home update (its first major update) will release on September 16 and got a new animated trailer showing a hero trekking back to his home after an epic boss battle.

Splitgate (Season 0 update now available)

UFL

One of the unexpected reveals of the Opening Night Live Gamescom 2021 event was a brand new football game – UFL – which will launch as a free-to-start game on all major platforms to take on the dominance of FIFA and eFootball.

Cult of the Lamb trailer (launching in 2022)

Midnight Fight Express trailer

Made by a 30-year-old Polish developer, Midnight Fight Express got a new trailer (looking incredible) and is set to launch sometime in winter 2022.
