Apple’s iPhone 12 lineup is coming soon, and it’s expected to arrive sometime in October. And as reported previously this new series will feature four new phones (i.e. iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max). But according to a mysterious and anonymous Twitter leaker @L0vetodream, claims that the upcoming 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will be called the ‘iPhone 12 mini’ and the phone that was initially thought to be called the ‘iPhone 12 Max’ will be called as just ‘iPhone 12’.
Apple iPhone 12 mini – The smallest iPhone ever
As the name suggests iPhone 12 mini could be the smallest of the four new iPhones set for 2020 or could be smaller than the iPhone you’re holding right now (or Smaller than the iPhone 6, 7, 8, smaller than X and iPhone 11 Pro). This new device earned its rumored “mini” name via MacRumors and the tweet below from L0vetodream.
As per previous reports, all new iPhones will arrive with 60Hz refresh rate OLED screens and will come with smaller notches that will allow for more status icons to fit at the top. And of course, with 5G support and powered by the company’s first chipset on the 5nm process: the A14.
The iPhone 12 will likely to be revealed between October 13 and 20 at a special virtual Apple event. And if these leaks are true the new iPhone 12 mini could be the first iPhone with “mini” moniker, which has otherwise been seen on both iPad and Mac computer lineups, and also on iPod mini from 04 and 05.
