Microsoft Crop has said that some of its services, including Outlook, Office 365, and Microsoft Teams, experienced a multi-hour outage on Monday, but they should be back for most users.

The Windows developers said that: “We have confirmed via our monitoring that the majority of services have recovered for most customers. We’re now investigating mitigation steps for those customers who are still affected.”

We’ve confirmed that the residual issue has been addressed and the incident has been resolved. Any users still experiencing impact should be mitigated shortly. Additional details can be found in the admin center under MO222965 or https://t.co/lbjX5iaxCX

Timeline of Microsoft 365 outage

The company first acknowledged issues at 3:14 AM IST via the Microsoft 365 Status Twitter account and said it had rolled back a change thought to be the cause of the issue at 4:06 AM IST. But just after 13min, the company again tweeted on Microsoft 365 status to say that it was “not observing an increase in successful connections after rolling back a recent change.” Microsoft tweeted that services were mostly back at 8:00 AM IST.

Also Microsoft’s Azure Active Directory service is still experiencing issues, according to the Azure status page. However, Microsoft said in a 6:27AM IST tweet from the Azure Support account that:

We have applied mitigation steps for an issue impacting Azure AD Authentication, and most customers should see signs of recovery at this time. More information and updates can be found on the Azure Status page at https://t.co/Dw19fIGsXf

Several Twitter users complained that this outage meant they could miss their job interviews and deadline for college assignments. The Xbox maker also tweeted that they were working to evaluate other solutions while they investigate the root cause of the outage.
