Great news for COD players, Activision has finally taken the steps needed to reduce the tremendous file sizes of recent Call of Duty games. The company has announced that it will shrink down the file size of both Modern Warfare and the free-to-play Warzone as part of Call of Duty Warzone’s Season 2 Reloaded update. Console players will be really happy to hear this news, as they can now have enough space to install other AAA games along with Call of Duty.
Call of Duty Season 2 Reloaded update is available for Black Ops Cold War as of now and will drop for Warzone on March 30 (today) at 11 pm PST. And with adding new multiplayer maps, maps, modes, outbreak content, it also going to crunch the file size down to a much smaller number of both the free-to-play version of Warzone and the Modern Warfare/Warzone version.
“One-time Season Two Reloaded update will be larger than usual and brings a great news of lower, optimized file size across Warzone,” says a press release. “Those who own the full version of Modern Warfare/Warzone, or who owns the free-to-play Warzone game, will find their overall file size footprint reduced on their respective platform.”
However, this update indeed making it easier to store more games on your hard drive, but downloading it won’t be easy for your internet connection. As the download size of Season Two Reloaded update is approximately 7.4 – 14.18 GB for owners of the full version of Black Ops Cold War, and 52.0 – 57.8 GB for owners of the free-to-play Warzone, who are up to date with the latest updates on either (or both) games.
