Anker Nano II GaN chargers launched starting at just $30

After releasing its first Gallium Nitride (GaN) charger in 2018, Anker, an accessory producer company has now released three new 2nd-gen GaN-based chargers for recharging iPhones and MacBooks, under its Anker Nano II lineup. The company claims that the GaN Nano II lineup is more efficient, smaller, and better at regulating temperatures than the previous generation chargers.

These new Nano II chargers use “GaN II” technology, and due to the wider bandgap of GaN, these chargers now have most silicon parts made out of Gallium nitride. Which makes it capable of handling the high voltages at high temperatures with a faster electric current than other chargers. Also, these recent models come with 20% more work efficiency and generate less heat when converting AC to DC.

Ankers Nano II GaN charger range

Anker Nano II lineup consists of 30W, 45W, and 65W chargers having the same form factor. Every charger contains a USB-C port and Anker’s PowerIQ 3.0 tech. The company said that this technique precisely offers optimal voltage to the device that is to be plugged in.

Anker Nano II GaN – 30W model

The developed 30W charger with GaN is 59% more compact thus takes less space than the original 30W charger. It can charge iPhones three times faster than the standard 5W charger, Anker said. It has the capability to supports Samsung Super Fast Charging, full-speed MacBook Air charging and other devices also includes recent iPads (2018 and later) and Nintendo Switch developed after 2018.

Anker Nano II GaN – 45W model

The 45W charger contains a foldable plug and is 34% smaller in size than Anker’s original 45W charger. It has the capability to support notebooks which include the 2020 MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, some Dell XPS 13 models, ThinkPad X390, Google Pixelbook, and Microsoft Surface Book 2.

Anker Nano II GaN – 65W model

While the 65W model provides full-speed charging for the 13-inch MacBook Pro and also does fast charging for other laptops. This foldable plug is 58% smaller than Anker’s original 61W charger.

Anker Nano II GaN chargers can be pre-ordered via Amazon and Anker and will be shipped in June. The 30W model costs $30, the 45W one costs $36, and the 65W costs $40. Anker company will itself selling these models in the UK and later in other European countries markets
