Warner Bros Japan Anime youtube channel has recently unveiled the trailer for Girl’s Frontline anime on their youtube channel. The trailer reveals the characters, key visuals, staff, and the 2022 worldwide release (via ANN).
The video also previewed the opening song, Bad Candy by yukaDD. Girl’s Frontline anime will be directed by Shigeru Ueda (Bleach, Peach Boy Riverside), Hideyuki Kurata will take care of script and series composition, and the character design is done by Yamada Masaki. The series is produced by Warner Bros and will be animated by Asahi Productions.
The story is based on the Sunborn Network’s Girls’ Frontline mobile game. It is a post-apocalyptic story set in the alternate timeline of the 2060s. After a military accident that causes a lot of chaos, world-war three starts, and get its conclusion with nuclear war.
Most of the planet’s population is wiped out, Nations destroyed and the surface is left uninhabitable. To defend the remaining territory various private companies are using android robots called “Tactical Dolls”. Girl’s Frontline anime tells the story of one such unit and their battle against a new AI threat of Sangvis Ferri.
Sunborn Network was founded by a Chinese Game doujin group knows as Mica Team. Sunborn Network launched its first smartphone game in 2016 in Mainland China with the game releasing subsequently in Japan and other western countries in 2018. The Network is also developing another game called Girl’s Frontline 2: Exilium sequel and another game called Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery, which will be a remake of Mica Team’s previous work called Codename: Bakery girl.
