After announcing all-new iPhone 13 lineup along with the new iPad Mini 2021, entry-level iPad 6, and Watch Series 7 last week, Apple has now started rolling out the new iOS 15, iPad 15, and WatchOS 8 for iPhones, iPads, and its smartwatch users across the globe.
The latest software upgrades from Cupertino giants comes with some new features that one shouldn’t want to miss. So that’s why we have come with a list of devices that support these new upgrades and a guide to how you can download them. Lets hop in.
iOS 15 supported devices
iOS 15 is a free software update that is now live for;
- All new iPhone 13 Series, last year’s iPhone 12 Series, iPhone 11 Series, iPhone X series, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, and 6s Plus.
- iPhone SE, iPhone SE 2nd gen, and iPod touch 7th gen.
How to download iOS 15 on your compatible devices
On your compatible device go to Settings > General > Software Update and if you have already chosen the option for automatic download then the iOS 15 update will automatically get downloaded on your device.
The eligible users can also manually download it using a Mac computer, but make sure that before doing that take your device back up via iCloud or computer and your iPhone or iPod should be fully charged (or have over 80 percent battery before you install the update).
The new iOS comes with a lot of new feautres, however it still don’t have SharePlay yet which we first saw at WWDC 2021 event. Apple says that it will deliver the dealyed feautres like this in near future, and to read more about it click here.
iPad OS 15 supported devices
iPadOS 15 is a free software update that is now available for;
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd generation), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (1st generation), iPad Pro 10.5-inch, and iPad Pro 9.7-inch.
- iPad (9th generation), iPad (8th generation), iPad (7th generation), iPad (6th generation), and iPad (5th generation).
- iPad mini (6th generation), iPad mini (5th generation), and iPad mini 4.
- iPad Air (4th generation), iPad Air (3rd generation) and iPad Air 2.
How to download iPadOS 15
The steps to download iPadOS 15 are quite similar to the steps for downloading the latest iOS update. The update can be downloaded by going to Settings > General > Software Update and the update will automatically be downloaded to compatible devices if you have already chosen that option.

WatchOS 8 supported devices
The new WatchOS doesn’t reinvent the wheel but makes the experience of wearing the Apple Watch more delightful. Starting from today, WatchOS 8 is avialable to download on devices give below for free;
- Apple Watch Series 3, Apple Watch Series 4, Watch Series 5, Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 6, and all-new Apple Watch Series 7
How to download WatchOS 8
WatchOS 8 update can be downloaded in iPhone 6s or later and one of the above-mentioned Apple Watch models. To downloand visit General > Software Update on the Watch app of your iPhone. Apple Fitness+ updates will also be available from September 27.
