OnePlus seems to be finally entering the smartwatch market after Pete Lau confirmed last year that the company is working on the OnePlus Watch which will launch in early 2021. And now as the OnePlus Watch design has surfaced on German Patent and Trademark Office, first spotted by TechnikNews, it seems likely that it could be launched alongside the OnePlus 9 series in March. Right after the launch of its OnePlus Band in January.
As you can see in the patent drawings OnePlus’s smartwatch appears to be a sports watch with a round dial and strap which could be of two types: Silicone and Leather along with a quick-release mechanism (making it easy to swap straps). Now both models have two buttons on the side (probably for power and selection) and the watch is also expected to come with a heart rate sensor, blood oxygen, and blood pressure monitoring like its high-end competitors. It also has two contact pins/points for charging probably.
Nothing much is known about what OS will this smartwatch will have, however, expected to release in sometime in March these watches are said to bear a model number W501GB and W301GB with one watch to have an OnePlus Watch RX moniker. Aside from this OnePlus is also working on a Cyberpunk 2077 special variant of the watch.
