Xupermask smart mask Announced by Honeywell and will.i.am

Xupermask – Smartest of its Kind

Despite the fact that people all over the world are getting COVID-19 vaccines, we’ll probably be wearing masks for a while longer. Honeywell is on the scene, and it’s going to be a good time as will.i.am, who today unveiled the Xupermask, a new smart mask that is at the core of a collaboration between the two companies. The Xupermask has a lot more features than a regular cloth or medical mask, but it’s also a lot more expensive.

Similar to Razer’s Project Hazel

This isn’t the first smart mask we’ve seen; in reality, the Xupermask looks remarkably similar to Razer’s Project Hazel, which is set to go into production in the near future. Honeywell and will made an announcement today. “Game-changing, high-concept face technology designed to help you follow face mask guidelines without compromising style,” says producer of the Xupermask.

Specs

The Xupermask has dual three-speed fans and HEPA filters, as well as a silicone face seal that can be customised to suit a range of face sizes, according to the manufacturer. It also has LED lights around the filters and an elastic band to keep it in place. One big difference between the Xupermask and other smart masks we’ve seen is that the Xupermask has a pair of built-in earbuds.

These don’t seem to be budget earbuds, as the announcement states that they have active noise cancellation technology for both audio and the microphone. According to Honeywell and will.i.am, the mask will connect to your phone via Bluetooth 5.0 and has a battery that lasts for about 7 hours on a maximum charge. In addition, the Xupermask can come in two colour schemes: white/gray/orange and black/orange.

Priceline

Here’s where the catch is: the Xupermask will set you back $299 (Rs. 22,000), which is a lot more than a surgical mask or a cloth mask. Even so, fabric and medical masks rarely have HEPA filters, built-in earbuds, or LEDs, so if the price isn’t enough to deter you from purchasing a Xupermask, you’ll have another chance on April 8th. The first Xupermask drop will take place at that time, and you’ll be able to get one from the Xupermask website.
