Hollywood’s biggest night of the year, Oscars 2021 took place Sunday night in Los Angeles amid the pandemic.
2021 Oscar-Winning Film: Nomadland
Nomadland won three awards for Best Picture, Best Actress– Frances McDormand, and Best Director– Chloe Zhao. Nomadland is an American drama film directed by Chloe Zhao. The star cast of the film includes Frances McDormand, David Strathairn featured in supporting roles, as well as real-life nomads Linda May, Swankie, and Bob wells as fictional versions of themselves. The film was based on a non-fiction book Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century written by Jessica Bruder.
It also won Best Picture at Golden Globes.
Other Oscar 2021 Awards:
- Anthony Hopkins won Best Actor for The Father, pipping the late Chadwick Boseman.
- Irrfan Khan, Chadwick Boseman, Bhanu Athaiya were honored in the Memorium Segment.
- H.E.R., D’Mile, and Tiara Thomas were the winners of Best Achievement in the original song, for Fight for You, from Judas and the Black Messiah.
- Pixar’s Soul won the second Oscar. Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Jon Batiste won the Best Original Score Academy Award.
- Mank Best won the second Oscar of the ceremony for Best Cinematography.
- Also, David Fincher’s Mank won the first award for Best Production Design.
- Yuh-Jung Youn was the first Korean actor who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and many more.
