When asked which wizarding family is our favorite, most of us answer with “The Weasleys”. Right from the beginning of Harry Potter, the Weasleys make their mark. We know and love this family for both their quirks and their kindness towards Harry. They are really good people who have nothing but Harry’s best interest in mind. Coming from a bit of a dysfunctional home, Harry has spent countless days at The Burrow, the Weasleys’ house and during those times, Arthur and Molly Weasley took him as one of their own.
At Christmas, there would always be a plate on the table for Harry, and there was always a new jumper knitted for him. But Molly and Arthur also had seven kids of their own: Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny. They are a big family who all fought in the Battle of Hogwarts siding with the Order. The family lost Fred, who sadly died during the battle. But little is shown about their lives after the Battle in the books or films.
Arthur and Molly Weasley
Molly’s heroic actions during the second wizarding war earned her quite the reputation and she became well known as the witch who defeated and killed Bellatrix Lestrange, a very powerful death eater. Arthur continued working with the Ministry of magic and fought to improve Muggle rights with the help of Kingsley Shacklebolt, the new Minister of Magic. Molly and Arthur lived out the rest of their days quietly, enjoying the company of their dozen grandchildren.
Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour
Bill married Fleur Delacour on August 1st, 1997, amidst the war. Fleur was a French quarter-veela who attended Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Though Bill survived the war and all the battles that transpired, he was at one point severely injured by a powerful werewolf, Fenrir Greyback. Fortunately, he avoided turning into a werewolf, but it has been expressed that he developed a tendency to enjoy very red steaks. Following the war, Bill and Fleur had three children: Victoire, Dominique, and Louis Weasley.
Charlie Weasley
Charlie, like all the other Weasleys, was present for the battle of Hogwarts and survived it. Charlie never got married or had any children. He got to spend time with his twelve nieces and nephews. Being an outdoorsy type with an affinity for dragons, Charlie was preoccupied with his craft rather than pursuing romance.
Percy Weasley
Though Percy had begun to go down a bit of a dubious path by siding with the Ministry after the events of Goblet of Fire, he did eventually makeup with his family during the Battle of Hogwarts. Percy survived the battle of Hogwarts, but like the rest, of his family, was significantly affected by the death of his brother, Fred. After the war, Percy returned to work for the Ministry as a high-ranking official under Kingsley Shacklebolt. He married a woman named Audrey and had two daughters: Molly and Lucy, Molly was of course named after his mother.
George Weasley
Fred’s demise had a profound impact on the future life of his identical twin, George. George and Fred were the closest of brothers, identical in every way, and the kind of twins that would spend every waking moment with one another. Their relationship was beautiful. It is unlikely that George would ever get over his brother’s death. He married Angelina Johnson, his former classmate who is actually Fred’s ex. They named their first child, a son, Fred.
George gave his son his old wand and used his twin’s wand after that. George and Angelina also had a daughter named Roxanne. George continued working at the business which he and Fred had started, and goes on to have a successful career helped by his brother Ron. Their shop “Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes” was the twins’ longtime dream and later became an enormous money-spinner.
Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger
The epilogue gave away some aspects of Ron’s future as he is shown sending his daughter off to Hogwarts at Platform 9 ¾ alongside his wife, Hermione Granger, whom he married sometime after the war (presumably before 2006). The pair had two children, Rose and Hugo Granger-Weasley. Ron pursued to become an author and eventually became one for the Ministry of Magic. It was stated that “Harry and Ron utterly revolutionized the Auror Department. They are now the experts. It doesn’t matter how old they are or what else they have done”.
However, Ron didn’t remain at the ministry for more than two years, and later joined his brother George with his joke shop, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. The epilogue also revealed that despite his terrible driving record, Ron was able to attain a Muggle driving license although he had to confound the driving instructor, a fact he has hidden from Hermione.
Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter
Ginny, the youngest child and the only daughter of Arthur and Molly Weasley, ended up marrying Harry Potter, her childhood crush and later, boyfriend. In the epilogue, Ginny is seen sending her sons to Hogwarts at Platform 9 ¾. Harry and Ginny had three children: James Sirius- named after Harry’s father and godfather, Albus Severus- named after “two of the bravest men” Harry knew, and Lily Luna, named after Harry’s mother and Ginny’s best friend.
After graduating from Hogwarts, Ginny became a professional quidditch player for The Holyhead Harpies. After retiring to focus more on motherhood, Ginny joined on with the Daily Prophet and became their official quidditch correspondent. This position eventually matured and she became the sports editor for the paper.
