When looking at a cast of characters in an anime some people just make a bigger impression. We often have the loud character that would explode in furry to save their friends. There are those characters that have this silent charisma that makes sure that viewer’s eyes get glued to them. Whenever these calmer or silent characters raise hell, these moments automatically become fan-favorite.
The following list contains such awaited moments when silent characters snapped.
Levi (Attack on Titan)
Levi Ackerman’s badass attitude is complimented by his silent and deadly demeanor which makes his presence more visceral compared to other characters in Attack on Titan. When he gets into the zone of raging furry, there’s little anyone can do to stop him.
This very scene from OVA ‘No Regrets’ on one hand is as violent, brutal, and gory as any of his other fights but on the other hand, brought us God-mode Levi because of its trauma. It is one of those early instances and is something that few people might know about where we can feel the power in the scene.
It further exemplifies the things that Levi had to endure to mold him into the strongest soldier that we know and love. He has always been calm and collected no matter how desperate the situation was. However, after seeing Furlan and Isabelle’s corpses, Levi flies into a mad state of rage and nearly skins the titan alive and the pure emotion being channeled in the screen gives us the chills.
Hyakkimaru (Dororo)
Dororo, as a series inclines towards a darker theme. The silent protagonist Hyakkimaru covers the whole scene in blood, rumbling as he senses dying Mio. Hyakkimaru’s character goes through a drastic change as Mio befriends him and the song Mio sung humanizes them both. In episode 6, the betrayed soldiers slaughter Mio, unable to utter a word Hyakkimaru becomes enraged. Growling like an animal, he starts tearing down everyone in his sight.
This very bloodbath showed everyone that despite his quiet and reserved nature Hyakkimaru is someone who you wouldn’t want to trifle with. However, covered in blood Dororo fears that he will become the ‘monster’ others claim him to be and comes back to his senses.
Gintoki (Gintama)
You might argue how does Gintoki ended up being on this list but, why not? Though being goofy, he remains chill all the time. One of the most passionate moments in the series befalls when Gintoki tries to give his all in his fight against Jirochou. Fans know the show’s got proficiency in switching its gears.
For one moment it does the most stupid stuff and on the next, straight-up epic action sequence is its forte. Nobody embodies this trait better than Gintoki himself. His fight versus ‘monster-like’ Jirochou is groundbreaking in various instances but, we can feel Gintoki’s rage. He’s blinded by his rage and never got the fight reasonably; his rage couldn’t buy him the win. This is a scarce sight to behold.
Roy Mustang (Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood)
Levi and Roy Mustang have comparable rage moments where they just go to town against their enemies. However, among many scenes of Mustang raging moments, the execution of Envy is by far the angriest he’s ever been. Envy didn’t even get his gloating before Mustang appears and incinerated him.
The violence was ruthless. This is truly adult-rated violence from an angry Mustang. Mustang’s character arc basically comes to a head at this vital juncture. He could’ve obliterated in the flames of vengeance.
Megumi Fushiguro (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Jujutsu Kaisen anime gave Megumi justice with his redemption fight. In episode 23, he can be seen finally leaving his comfort zone in the battle against the curse pushing himself past his limits with his all-new domain expansion.
Jujutsu Kaisen really gave us a finale to remember for its first season. Watching Gojo and Itadori fight is always pleasing but Megumi pulling off such a dark and omniscient looking ability while bleeding with the crazed face on is a surreal sight to behold.
Mob???% (Mob Psycho 100)
Shigeo Kageyama nicknamed Mob in his ???% form embraces the emptiness within. Among the whole gallery of Mob’s form that is tied to his emotions ???% form builds the skyscraper of enormous power that represents the strength.
He is no longer the Mob who used to hide his true potential in order to appear normal. From whitened eyes to the flaring hair to the evil-looking aura this is by far the most terrifying form of Mob no questions asked.
