Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathway Anime Film has been Delayed once again

Update: After getting postponed three times, Sunrise Inc. has now announced that the anime film “Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash” will be released in Japan on June 11 with a theatrical limited edition on Blu-ray.

Original Article: An ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 going around the world has done many damages to the entertainment industry. Due to this many releases of movies are postponed and one of them is Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathway whose fans are eagerly waiting for it. The news was posted on the Gundam.info portal on Monday, that Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathway anime film is delayed again due to coronavirus (COVID-19).

Japan announced the extension of emergency due to Covid-19 in areas like Tokyo and Kyoto on Twitter. So this put halt in theaters and Hathway makers does not want to lose box office revenue. This is not the first time they delayed the release of Gundam but they earlier also delayed the release due to specific reasons. 

The initial date was 23 July 2020 for Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathway after that it was 7 May and 21 May which has now got delayed once again. The new release is not specified just yet and it is hoped this would be the last delay of the film.

This decision is taken for the welfare of Japan’s people as there is a new wave of Covid-19 and this spreading fast in Asia. On average there are 6000 cases are coming weekly and even their hospitals do not have more space to hospitalize patients. And the vaccination process is 3% slow in comparison to other countries. Metropolitan cities of Japan have adverse effects and even the government has been looking over the Olympics Summer debut.

When Mobile Suit Gundam will release, it will play in a total of 214 theatres. Even they are going to release this film in 4D and Dolby Cinema on opening day. Dolby Cinema will be going to show you Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s CounterAttack in the first 15 minutes 53 seconds. The decision of delaying the release is taken in the care of people’s health.
